It Was Only a Little Red
Aunt Marion says: Stopping when the light turns red seems less like a rule and more like a suggestion these days.

Driving has become a real challenge these days.
Now, I'll admit that as a somewhat older person, I tend to follow the rules of the road. Apparently, this is a source of great frustration to some drivers who prefer traveling at speeds that leave seagulls spinning and squirrels filing insurance claims.
But lately, I've noticed something even more concerning. More and more people seem to continue through red lights. Now that scares me.
Don't get me wrong. I love Jesus, but I'm not quite ready to meet Him face to face. Personally, I figure most folks who run red lights simply didn't notice the signal changed. After all, most people have places they want to go, people they want to see, and plans for tomorrow.
So if I'm the first car at an intersection and the light turns green, I don't move right away. I look both ways for those zippiddy-do-dah folks who may not have noticed their light turned red. They just keep right on coming as if they're late for a half-price sale at the bait shop.
Now Jesus tells me to love everyone, so I do. But I'm also a firm believer in self-preservation. So I say a little prayer for the folks who hurry through red lights. Then I say another prayer for the poor souls who charge through a green light without checking for the zippiddy-do-dah crowd.
It seems to be happening more and more these days.
Must be something in the water.
